Gameday Operator - CFL Football
About The Position
Sportable is a global sports technology company that pioneered real-time player tracking and smart balls in 2016. We work with major sporting brands and our technology is used by numerous professional and collegiate teams worldwide. We develop electronics embedded into sports balls and player tracking devices, as well as broadcast enhancements. This role focuses on the operational delivery of football gameday services in Edmonton, blending sport performance, technology, and operations in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will assist with the smooth operational execution of game day services using smart ball and player tracking technology, including system installation, live system operation, and ensuring high-standard operational processes. The ideal candidate is a football fan interested in technology and data analysis, capable of working independently and confidently in high-pressure situations, and able to liaise with various gameday stakeholders. Full training will be provided.
Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of football
- Ability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as needed
- Comfortable troubleshooting in a fast pace televised environment
- Confident, professional communicator
- Strong attention to detail and process adherence
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced settings
- Comfortable working as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Currently studying or graduate of Sport Science, Performance Analysis, Broadcasting/Communications or a related field
- Experience with sports technology systems
- Familiarity with performance analysis software for live coding of events
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
Responsibilities
- Set up, monitor, and operate Sportable’s ball tracking technology at selected football matches
- Liaise with Sportable staff, stadium staff, teams and broadcasters to ensure smooth and professional service delivery
- Assist with gameday operations, including charging, handover and collection of smart balls and player tags
