About The Position

The Game Manager will assist the athletic director/principal in setting up and supervising athletic contests during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. This role involves managing various aspects of game day operations to ensure smooth and safe events.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Ability to set up and take down equipment
  • Ability to handle tickets and cash
  • Ability to manage and direct personnel
  • Ability to maintain crowd control
  • Ability to arrive at least one and one-half hours before contest start time

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and taking down equipment for the field/court, including the press box, scorer’s table, lights, concession stand, restrooms, bleachers, and storage.
  • Setting up ticket booths and handling tickets, cash box, and appropriate forms.
  • Welcoming and escorting game officials to their dressing room before and after the contest and at halftime.
  • Paying officials by check upon their arrival at the contest site.
  • Welcoming opponents to the school, escorting them to their locker room, and providing appropriate instructions.
  • Attending to opponents before and after the contest.
  • Coordinating with security for crowd control, maintaining contact during and after the contest, and monitoring the crowd.
  • Monitoring and positioning support personnel including announcer, clock operator, scorekeeper, chain crew, medical/ambulance personnel, and parking staff.
  • Arriving at least one and one-half hours before the contest is to begin (unless otherwise instructed).
  • Being the last to leave after opponents and officials have departed, security has secured the area, fields/courts are secured, and janitors have begun cleanup.
  • Assuming other duties assigned by the principal and/or athletic director.
