About The Position

The Gallery Design Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the design center. This role involves being a role model and leader, solving problems, making informed decisions, and managing the department to achieve maximum results. The coordinator must maintain a friendly and professional environment by greeting and acknowledging all customers and co-workers. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, possess good communication skills, and be reliable, responsible, and dependable while adhering to all safety guidelines. A strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks are essential. The role also includes performing any other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift merchandise of 20 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Experience with sales techniques required.
  • Positive attitude when working with customers.
  • Knowledge of employment, safety, and merchandise handling procedures.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Interior Design preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train new hire teams.
  • Prepare weekly gallery spiffs.
  • Work directly with customers and Designers.
  • Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customer’s needs.
  • Assist and help Designers in completing special orders.
  • Write and verify all special orders to ensure price, finish, fabrics, and trims are correctly specified.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
  • Keep the design center organized.
  • Ensure catalogs, price books, and fabrics are current.
  • Assist gallery customers with fabric selections for custom upholstery and finish selections for case good orders.
  • Coordinate and organize all in-home consultation documents.
  • Attend in-home consultation sessions as needed.
  • Keep gallery merchandise presentable for customers.
  • Utilize excellent customer relations.
