About The Position

The Gallery Attendant is a part time, public facing position responsible for welcoming guests, monitoring the Lighthouse Immersive exhibit galleries, supporting guest flow, providing wayfinding and basic exhibit information, and helping maintain a safe, orderly, and engaging environment at the Moreno Valley Museum & ArtSpace. This position is scheduled for 24 hours per week and reports directly to the Floor Operations Supervisor. The role requires a visible presence in assigned galleries and regular interaction with guests throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in customer service, guest services, attractions, immersive entertainment, museums, cultural venues, hospitality, tourism, or live events is preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, patient, dependable, and comfortable engaging with guests of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to learn and accurately communicate basic exhibit, guest, and venue information.
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to recognize and report operational, technical, or safety concerns.
  • Ability to communicate venue policies and exhibit guidelines in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to follow procedures, accept direction, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm and professional when responding to guest concerns or unexpected situations.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, occasional evenings, holidays, school and group visits, special events, and periods of increased attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and provide a friendly, helpful, and professional presence throughout the Lighthouse Immersive exhibit galleries and public areas.
  • Orient guests and provide accurate information about the Lighthouse Immersive exhibit, amenities, operating procedures, venue policies, and other venue offerings.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Lighthouse Immersive exhibit in order to answer guest questions.
  • Monitor assigned galleries and help ensure that guests follow established venue policies, safety requirements, and exhibit guidelines.
  • Observe projection, audio, lighting, and other exhibit elements and promptly report interruptions or technical concerns to the Floor Operations Supervisor and Technical team.
  • Support guest flow, line management, capacity limits, group arrivals, and transitions between galleries and other venue areas.
  • Assist with periods of increased attendance within the exhibit galleries, including school and community group visits and special events.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and help guests locate galleries, restrooms, exits, accessible routes, and other venue areas.
  • Respond to routine guest questions and service concerns and promptly refer complaints, incidents, or situations requiring additional assistance to the Floor Operations Supervisor.
  • Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities and confirm that galleries, guest areas, and informational materials are ready for operation.
  • Inspect assigned areas and promptly report damage, maintenance needs, spills, safety hazards, accessibility concerns, or unusual conditions.
  • Maintain guest information, brochures, and assigned work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow established safety, emergency response, accessibility, security, and incident reporting procedures.
  • Use radios and other approved communication tools appropriately to remain connected with the Floor Operations Supervisor and venue teams.
  • Assist with attendance counts, guest feedback, checklists, and other routine records as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Box Office, Retail, Operations, Security, Cleaning, Technical, and other venue teams to support a consistent guest experience.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, and briefings related to the Lighthouse Immersive exhibit, guest service, safety, and venue operations.
