About The Position

Wingate University is seeking a GA Football coach to assist with coaching offensive line fundamentals and techniques, practice preparation, film breakdown, scouting, recruiting, player development, and administrative duties. Wingate is a fast-growing independent university with over 3,400 students on two campuses, committed to an inclusive and welcoming environment. The main campus is located on 500+ acres, 25 minutes from Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of offensive line fundamentals and techniques.
  • Familiarity with run blocking schemes and pass protection concepts.
  • Ability to teach footwork and hand placement.
  • Skill in defensive front identification and blitz recognition.
  • Experience conducting drills.
  • Ability to assist in player evaluations and development.
  • Understanding of practice organization and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in setting up drills and equipment.
  • Ability to prepare scout cards and scripts.
  • Experience with film breakdown and scouting.
  • Knowledge of football software platforms.
  • Ability to prepare scouting reports and tendency data.
  • Experience creating film cut-ups.
  • Understanding of recruiting operations and prospect evaluations.
  • Familiarity with recruiting databases and film organization.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules regarding communication with prospective student-athletes.
  • Ability to coordinate visits.
  • Experience assisting during camps, clinics, and recruiting events.
  • Ability to support academic monitoring and mentorship.
  • Understanding of player development principles.
  • Ability to assist with strength and conditioning tracking.
  • Skills in administrative duties such as equipment and meeting room setup.
  • Organizational skills for playbooks, scouting materials, and scripts.
  • Ability to maintain records.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coaching offensive line fundamentals and techniques, including run blocking schemes, pass protection concepts, footwork, hand placement, defensive front identification, and blitz recognition.
  • Conduct individual and group drills during practice.
  • Assist in player evaluations and development plans.
  • Organize daily practice plans and drill schedules.
  • Set up drills, bags, cones, and practice equipment.
  • Prepare offensive scout cards and scripts.
  • Operate practice film equipment when needed.
  • Assist with practice tempo and organization.
  • Break down opponent defensive fronts and pressures.
  • Analyze film using football software platforms.
  • Prepare scouting reports and tendency data.
  • Assist with creating cut-ups for player meetings.
  • Identify defensive alignments, blitzes, and stunts.
  • Assist with recruiting operations and prospect evaluations.
  • Organize recruiting databases and film.
  • Communicate with prospective student-athletes as permitted by NCAA rules.
  • Help coordinate official and unofficial visits.
  • Assist during camps, clinics, and recruiting events.
  • Support academic monitoring and mentorship of student-athletes.
  • Encourage leadership, discipline, and accountability.
  • Assist strength staff with offseason participation tracking.
  • Monitor player progress and attendance.
  • Assist with equipment and meeting room setup.
  • Organize playbooks, scouting materials, and practice scripts.
  • Maintain recruiting and personnel records.
  • Help coordinate travel logistics when assigned.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Coach or Offensive Line Coach.
