About The Position

The Gérant(e) de magasin (Store Manager) position is responsible for the overall operations of the store, including leadership, customer service, financial management, and team development. The role involves directly supervising employees, ensuring the store is well-maintained, stocked, and organized according to company standards, and fostering positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and the community. The manager is also responsible for analyzing sales and financial data, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees on the use of equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to supervise and manage the functions outlined in CSR, LSR, and SA job descriptions.
  • Ability to use a computer for report completion and analysis, inventory control, cash control, and employment-related forms.
  • A valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Open availability.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions.
  • Ability to work in the described conditions.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Food Server certificate (e.g. ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the activities of 2 or more full-time employees, including Assistant Managers, Lead Representatives, and Customer Service Representatives.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains employees, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Develops, manages, and assigns tasks to ensure the store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well-kept.
  • Maintains a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisor.
  • Schedules employees according to company guidelines and business needs.
  • Implements non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating, and separating employees.
  • Develops positive and professional relationships with all suppliers.
  • Promotes excellent service and resolves customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Promotes and ensures a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.
  • Prepares and delivers timely performance appraisals and feedback for all employees.
  • Trains all employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, and safety procedures.
  • Mentors and trains employees on cash handling and risk reduction.
  • Ensures employees complete all required training in a timely manner.
  • Establishes effective communication channels for all store employees.
  • Holds periodic communication meetings with store employees and the District Manager.
  • Evaluates and develops action plans to achieve store objectives.
  • Organizes and maintains all store files and manuals.
  • Ensures all required reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Manages merchandise stocking, display, and pricing.
  • Ensures all required employment-related posters and signs are accessible.
  • Analyzes daily sales and expense information to maximize sales and net profits.
  • Budgets and forecasts P&L lines, and manages merchandise margins.
  • Safeguards and accounts for all money received and disbursed.
  • Performs financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits.
  • Notifies District Manager of any sales, cash, inventory, or operating discrepancies.
