About The Position

The Humanities Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a First-Year Experience Course Adjunct Instructor to teach FYE 105 at the Bullitt County campus. The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach in-person courses for the fall semester 2026.

Requirements

  • BACHELOR’S DEGREE WITH EXPERIENCE TEACHING AND/OR ADVISING

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree is the preferred credential for teaching FYE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any area plus experience teaching GEN 100 or GEN 102 or other FYE-type courses
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any area plus experience with college student success/student services processes – i.e. advising, student support services, counseling

Responsibilities

  • Maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students
  • Maintain student records and grades
  • Develop and implement success and retention activities
  • Utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback
  • Knowledge of higher education student needs, including academic skills, campus resources, advising and use of technology
