About The Position

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Animal Health Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals. The BTS department develops the processing knowledge necessary to successfully scale-up and efficiently produce veterinary vaccines at a commercial scale. Development efforts focus on ensuring robust, cost-effective, safe, and advancing technologies for the manufacturing facilities to secure a competitive advantage in animal health for our company. The intern is responsible for accurate data recording, experimental set-up techniques, interpretation of results, and safe lab practices.

Requirements

• Minimum sophomore standing in a four-year bachelor program in a life science or engineering discipline.
• Completed their Junior year towards a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Veterinary Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Protein Chemistry, Microbiology or Biotechnology, by May 2027.
• Interest in laboratory and manufacturing, solving scientific problems.
• Enjoy working in a highly-collaborative team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Science background and a working knowledge of basic laboratory techniques in life science, with a preference in virology and bacteriology field.
• General computer skills are essential, as are good communication skills and the ability to keep accurate records.
• Must be available for full-time employment for 12 weeks starting May 24, 2027.
• Open to learn throughout the internship and to be thorough and methodical about planned experiments.
• Committed to making an active contribution to team goals.

Nice To Haves

• Preference in virology and bacteriology field.

Responsibilities

• Support animal health vaccine support and manufacturing projects through laboratory studies, sample preparation, data collection, and process evaluation.
• Analyze experimental data, maintain accurate records, and summarize findings to support technical and business decisions.
• Assist with troubleshooting and solving scientific or process-related challenges associated with vaccine production.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and manufacturing teams to gain exposure to commercial vaccine development and bioprocessing operations.
