About The Position

CaVU is seeking a network engineer to support the design of Navy networks. Specifics tasks include: Development of network topologies and templates from system requirements, development of network templates and IP plans, development of test plans and documentation. Configuration and documentation of SDWAN solutions. This position is a hybrid-site located in San Diego, CA. Candidate will be required to attend meetings at client site in classified spaces.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency
  • Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science required
  • Secret minimum, TS/SCI desired
  • 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation
  • Proven track record of performance in client facing roles that require engagement and relationship building with stakeholders across Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies
  • Experience with SDN/ SD-WAN Technologies and vendors including VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source solutions
  • Experience with network configuration for L2/L3 switches, routers, security appliances (firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, etc)
  • Experience developing and documenting network topologies
  • Experience in virtualization technologies
  • CCNP (or equivalent) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF communications, specifically MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM technologies.
  • Experience leveraging NetDevOps or DevSecOps to scale enterprise level engineering projects.
  • Experience with Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF, and/or RESTCONF
  • Experience modeling network configuration in JSON, YAML, or Jinja
  • Experience developing and maturing complex, collaborative networking projects and working autonomously to move network development forward
