About The Position

This role involves learning, performing, and rotating between various positions such as packer, scaler, styler, and grader. The primary goal is to maintain product line speeds at the designated rate for each product. The position requires heavy lifting and working on a moving conveyor belt using both hands. Responsibilities include spreading or styling product by hand, performing multiple types of packing and weighing, pulling bones from product, and inspecting/grading product to remove items that do not meet standards. The role also emphasizes teamwork, participation in team development, and adherence to Simmons Operating Systems principles, including quality, security, and LEAN practices. Other duties may be assigned to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift.
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
• May include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
• Requires standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, and slip resistant footwear.
• Must have the ability to make good decisions.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others and leadership team.

Nice To Haves

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.

Responsibilities
