The Furniture Workroom Technician II is responsible for the physical inspection, touch-up, repair, and refinishing of furniture flaws or damage, adhering to established standards and procedures prior to delivery.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years related experience.
• Ability to use work room tools and assemble furniture.
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces or adjusts damaged furniture with tools and chemicals.
• Mixes and blends wood stains to match original finish.
• Removes furniture finishes by using applicable chemicals and/or sanding.
• Paints, glazes and/or refinishes furniture to original vendor specifications.
• Use workroom tools to spray fabric and shrink wrap goods.
• Complete appropriate paperwork.
• May occasionally need to travel to customers’ homes for repairs.
• Ensures quality and timely completion of work.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
