About The Position

The Furniture Repair Technician position is located in Columbus, OH. You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will ensure complete thorough inspection of upholstery and furniture repairs including burns-ins, wood raining and clear finish. Performs repairs to ensure quality assurance for the next day’s home deliveries. This role involves color matching on top surfaces, proper applications of sealers and topcoats, polishing topcoat to vendor specifications, cross grain scratches burn in and rub out, proper application of finishes using a spray gun, and minor to more complex repair of damage/defects to meet standards (e.g., wood repair, touch up, burn in, fill sticks, etc.). The technician will also be responsible for paint and finish color-matching for wood products, using lacquers for flat to high gloss finishes, inventorying and organizing all shop tools and repair materials/supplies, performing work safely and contributing to a professional environment, and assembling/deluxing furniture and staging prior to delivery as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ previous experience in furniture assembly
  • This is an onsite and in office role
  • Ability to multitask and be extremely detailed in identifying errors and imperfections

  • Previous experience with painting, wood assembly, wood repair, and/or similar craftsmanship
