About The Position

Performs a variety of furniture service duties, including delivery, assembly, installation, repair, and servicing of both warranty and non-warranty office furniture. Takes direction from the Furniture Install Lead and reports to the Manager, Furniture Warehouse or Manager, Furniture Operations.

Requirements

  • Valid Class G driver’s license with a maximum of 3 demerit points.
  • Experience operating vehicles ranging from passenger vans to 5-ton trucks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read construction blueprints and CAD installation drawings.
  • Proven ability to prepare installation project and issue reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Experience using warehouse equipment and lightweight tools (e.g., pallet jacks, dollies, and power tools).
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional and courteous approach.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, physically fit to drive, and possess a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the local metro area is an asset.
  • Experience with hand trucks/dollies preferred; training for pallet jack use will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Load furniture orders onto the truck safely and efficiently, and deliver products to customers.
  • Verify orders against paperwork prior to loading.
  • Drive to customer locations and complete furniture assembly and installation according to specifications, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all furniture is installed accurately and in a timely manner; inspect for proper functionality as per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Install all types of free-standing furniture, panel systems, and modular systems, including placement, leveling, cleaning, touch-ups, and removal of packaging and waste.
  • Address and resolve customer issues as appropriate, and escalate to the supervisor or project coordinator when necessary.
  • Complete furniture repair service calls efficiently and maintain all required service/repair documentation (warranty and non-warranty).
  • Ensure all deficiencies and repairs are properly documented and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Report errors, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with project coordinators to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform daily inspections, and report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Unload incoming furniture using appropriate warehouse equipment.
  • Assist delivery drivers or support warehouse operations as needed, based on workload and coverage requirements.
  • Be flexible to work overtime and weekends to support project completion.
  • Participate in scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Follow all safety procedures while performing job duties.
