About The Position

The Furnace Operator is responsible for accurately reading and executing work orders and ISO documents, maintaining complete documentation for all jobs, and properly setting up and operating all equipment in their area of responsibility. This includes starting up, setting up, and shutting down equipment. The role requires maintaining training status per ISO documents, performing all job duties with a focus on safety and well-being, and maintaining high equipment efficiency by following the production schedule and ensuring full capacity loads. The operator must also understand and utilize inspection equipment accurately, perform part inspections per ISO documents, use a forklift to load and unload materials into ovens, keep their work area organized and clean, monitor equipment performance, recognize and report problems affecting quality and productivity, and train other employees. A good attendance record is also required.

Requirements

  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Read and execute Work Orders and ISO documents accurately
  • Maintain correct, accurate, and complete documentation for all jobs
  • Properly setup and operate all equipment in area of responsibility. Includes start up, set up of all production, and shut down.
  • Maintain training status per ISO documents
  • Perform all job duties with the Safety and Well-being of themselves and others in mind
  • Maintain high equipment efficiency. Follow the production schedule. Include other work (appropriate to process) to produce full capacity loads. Have properly constructed loads (or individual parts) ready for equipment immediately
  • Understand the proper use of all inspection equipment and demonstrate the ability to utilize this equipment with accuracy perform all part inspections per ISO documents
  • Use a forklift to load and unload, baskets of materials into the ovens
  • Keep area of responsibility organized and clean
  • Monitor performance of all equipment in area of responsibility. Recognize problems which affect the quality of the work and the productivity of the plant. Notify proper personnel when required; report required maintenance repairs
  • Able and willing to train other employees in the requirements of this job
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record
