Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions precisely.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and process logging.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environments.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment or familiarity with furnace operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the furnace to melt steel into a molten bath, ensuring the correct charge is placed and following the electronic heat log steps on the computer subsystem.
  • Remain with the furnace during operation, take temperatures, and monitor melting parameters daily.
  • Maintain and repair the refractory lining inside the furnace using specialized equipment to apply protective coatings, ensuring the furnace’s integrity and longevity.
  • Keep the work area clean and free of hazards, perform frequent cleaning, and adhere strictly to PPE and safety protocols.
  • Participate in lean initiatives such as 6S, Visual Management, and Kaizen to support continuous improvement.
  • Capture basic operational data accurately and update pitch boards as required to support production tracking and communication.
