About The Position

The Furnace Operator is responsible for reading and executing work orders and ISO documents, maintaining accurate documentation, and properly setting up and operating all equipment in their area of responsibility. This includes start-up, setup, and shutdown procedures. The role requires maintaining training status per ISO documents, performing all job duties with safety and well-being in mind, and maintaining high equipment efficiency by following the production schedule. The operator must also ensure properly constructed loads are ready for equipment and understand the proper use of all inspection equipment, performing part inspections accurately. Additionally, the operator will use a forklift to load and unload materials into ovens, keep their work area organized and clean, monitor equipment performance, recognize problems affecting quality and productivity, and report required maintenance. The role also involves training other employees and maintaining a good attendance record.

Requirements

  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Read and execute Work Orders and ISO documents accurately
  • Maintain correct, accurate, and complete documentation for all jobs
  • Properly setup and operate all equipment in area of responsibility. Includes start up, set up of all production, and shut down.
  • Maintain training status per ISO documents
  • Perform all job duties with the Safety and Well-being of themselves and others in mind
  • Maintain high equipment efficiency. Follow the production schedule. Include other work (appropriate to process) to produce full capacity loads. Have properly constructed loads (or individual parts) ready for equipment immediately
  • Understand the proper use of all inspection equipment and demonstrate the ability to utilize this equipment with accuracy perform all part inspections per ISO documents
  • Use a forklift to load and unload, baskets of materials into the ovens
  • Keep area of responsibility organized and clean
  • Monitor performance of all equipment in area of responsibility. Recognize problems which affect the quality of the work and the productivity of the plant. Notify proper personnel when required; report required maintenance repairs
  • Able and willing to train other employees in the requirements of this job
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record
