We are looking for a Furnace Loader that will be responsible for transporting and handling of parts between operations and departments. This role involves checking with the etch department to determine which parts are finished and ready to move to heat treat or be cut. The Furnace Loader will also check ovens, charts, and the status of work in-progress to ensure the job moves to the next operation appropriately. They will take copies of travelers to production to inform them of the job status for planning and refer to the daily schedule to determine the priority of jobs to move into press ovens. Additionally, the Furnace Loader will check travelers to ensure the correct oven temperature is being used and load ovens after confirming that the alloy and code for the job and traveler match, alerting the Press Lead if there is a mismatch. The role also includes continually removing parts from press tables, placing them in baskets, and moving them to etch, and using a forklift to transport parts between operations. Loading and unloading parts into carts or etching baskets, maintaining traceability, and keeping accurate part-counts are also key responsibilities. A strong commitment to good attendance and punctuality is critical to meet operational needs. The Furnace Loader will perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed by the department manager.
