About The Position

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center is looking for an organized, outgoing, and community-minded Fundraising Specialist to help grow our fundraising efforts, strengthen donor and business relationships, and bring special events to life. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys building relationships, planning events, connecting with local businesses, and turning ideas into action. You’ll work with staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors, vendors, and community partners to increase engagement and support Appleseed’s mission throughout our community.

Requirements

Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Someone who is comfortable building relationships and communicating with businesses, donors, volunteers, and community partners
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and event details
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Professional, dependable, and comfortable representing Appleseed in the community
Valid Ohio driver’s license
Reliable transportation and required auto liability insurance
Ability to travel locally for events, presentations, meetings, and community engagement
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends for fundraising and special events
Successful completion of required background check and pre-employment drug screening

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, sales, business, public relations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
1–3 years of experience in fundraising, event planning, donor relations, marketing, sales, nonprofit development, or a related area

Responsibilities

Build and grow relationships with local businesses, corporations, and community organizations
Identify opportunities for sponsorships, workplace giving, fundraising campaigns, employee engagement, EAP partnerships, referrals, and other community partnerships
Plan and coordinate fundraising events, donor appreciation activities, corporate fundraising challenges, and special programs
Secure event sponsorships, auction items, in-kind donations, and other community contributions
Coordinate event details including registrations, guest communications, vendors, volunteers, staffing, setup, and follow-up
Recruit and support staff and volunteers participating in fundraising events
Assist with donor recognition, thank-you letters, and stewardship communications
Help identify and engage prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners
Assist with fundraising materials, sponsorship packages, campaign messaging, and donor communications
Maintain organized donor, fundraising, and event records
Track fundraising results and prepare reports for leadership
Represent Appleseed professionally at community events, networking opportunities, and stakeholder meetings
