About The Position

Small Biz Heroes is seeking a Funding Operations Manager to join their team in Charlotte, NC. This in-office role offers a base salary of $60,000 plus performance bonuses. The company's mission is to guide entrepreneurs toward responsible capital that strengthens their businesses. The operations team ensures that every deal moves efficiently, responsibly, and professionally from submission to funding. The Funding Operations Manager will work directly with the CEO, receiving training, mentorship, and grooming to eventually run the operational core of the company. Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of experience in operations, underwriting, loan processing, office management, or financial services
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external partners
  • Experience working with CRM systems and operational tools
  • Comfort using spreadsheets and reporting dashboards
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coachability, character, and work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lending or funding marketplaces preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Underwriting files alongside the CEO and learning deal desk standards
  • Reviewing business financials, bank statements, and supporting documentation
  • Identifying strengths, weaknesses, and funding opportunities
  • Structuring deals strategically to maximize client success and long-term fundability
  • Collaborating with Funding Managers to determine the best lending solutions for each client
  • Helping business owners graduate into better financing over time
  • Overseeing daily pipeline activity across Funding Managers, Processing, and lender communications
  • Monitoring pipeline health and deal progression
  • Ensuring timely lender submissions and stip collection
  • Following up with lenders on underwriting and funding timelines
  • Maintaining strong lender relationships through consistent communication
  • Supporting complex deal coordination between internal teams and lenders
  • Supporting and helping to develop the Processing Team, including Loan Processors, Analysts, and Operations staff
  • Training staff on lender submission standards and SOPs
  • Leading daily standups and pipeline reviews
  • Supporting operational performance improvement
  • Reinforcing accountability and team collaboration
  • Monitoring Salesforce for data accuracy and pipeline integrity
  • Ensuring proper use of workflow systems and automation
  • Reviewing operational dashboards and KPIs
  • Enforcing SOP compliance across the team
  • Documenting and improving SOPs
  • Supporting new lender onboarding and integration
  • Assisting leadership with operational reporting and KPIs
  • Refining underwriting and deal-structuring processes to improve approval rates and client outcomes
  • Helping build scalable processes as the company grows
