About The Position

The Fundamental Research Group (FRG) is a global team of Equity and Fixed Income Research Associates delivering high-quality, impactful research support to the Investment Group. As a Manager, you will lead our New York team of Research Associates, partnering closely with investment professionals and global FRG peers to anticipate research needs and deliver exceptional outcomes. You will play a key role in setting team direction, driving operational excellence, and fostering a high-performance, inclusive environment. You will also support the development of associates while contributing to broader departmental priorities aligned with Capital Group’s long-term strategy.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, with a strong foundation in fundamental investment research
  • Strong understanding of investment research requirements and how to translate them into high-quality outputs that support investment decision-making
  • Ability to identify, recruit, and coach strong investment research talent, helping individuals grow while strengthening overall team capability
  • Ability to manage complex workflows, exercise sound judgment, and operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and leverage data and technology to enhance outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end research delivery, including prioritizing workflow, ensuring quality and timeliness, and continuously improving processes to meet regional and global needs
  • Build strong partnerships with investment professionals and act as the primary point of contact for research requests, aligning team priorities with business objectives
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team environment, providing coaching, feedback, and development to support associate growth and engagement
  • Drive team effectiveness by proactively identifying capability needs, addressing bottlenecks, and partnering with HR and Talent Acquisition on recruiting and succession planning
