About The Position

The Fund Accounting Senior Manager is a critical member of the team responsible for overseeing accounting, valuation, and reporting functions for more than 27,000 funds on the AngelList platform. The role manages complex fund accounting work that includes both automated and manual processes. It focuses on producing financial reporting deliverables, maintaining accurate accounting updates—including investment valuations—resolving exceptions, responding to investor inquiries, and researching technical issues. The role interfaces directly with fund leads, fund investors, external auditors, and other parties. It reports to the Fund Accounting Director and collaborates with fund accounting colleagues and cross-functional operations teams. The position also oversees and coaches managers and/or senior accountants, develops and owns key processes and controls, supports client onboarding from existing administrators and service providers, coordinates fund audits, and works with engineering teams to increase automation. Accounting treatment must comply with US GAAP, particularly ASC 946 and ASC 820. Belltower is AngelList’s fund services division, formed in 2019 as its native fund administrator. It provides fund administration and full-service fund management services to venture funds, syndicates, and rolling funds. Since 2019, Belltower has supported more than 27,000 funds representing over $25 billion in assets under administration. Belltower operates out of hubs in New York City and San Francisco. For most roles on those teams, employees work from the office at least two days per week: Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity; the base salary starts at $220,000+ annually and varies based on factors including professional background, experience, level, and location. Further details about the Total Rewards package are provided during recruitment. Belltower Funds, a division of AngelList, is an equal opportunity employer.
