About The Position
The Engagement Manager at Standish is responsible for managing and leading all client engagements. In conjunction with the Engagement Director, the Engagement Manager supervises the Fund Controller and Associate in matters of fund accounting, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree; a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred.
- At least 2 years of public accounting experience or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of VC/PE fund experience or experience at a fund administrator, or at least 1 year as a manager at a public accounting firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Private Equity/VC experience and knowledge of Partnership Accounting.
- CPA.
Responsibilities
- Maintain frequent client contact to stay informed about ongoing fund activities.
- Manage client expectations.
- Manage engagements with consideration for client needs, staff utilization, and overall efficiency.
- Supervise the audit and tax preparation process.
- Review ongoing communications to clients and their investors.
- Assist with sourcing new clients, issuing proposals, and business development.
