About The Position

The Fund Accounting Associate supports Blue Owl’s GP Strategic Capital organization, partnering with various Controllers and the CFO. The role covers private equity fund accounting, investment product and valuation control, day-to-day fund operations, tax calculations and reporting, and preparation of audited and unaudited financial statements. The Associate also works with the GP Strategic Capital team on new products, investments, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of experience in a public accounting and/or fund controller role within the asset management industry.
• Solid knowledge of the alternatives industry and intellectual curiosity about its business dynamics.
• Self-starting attitude and entrepreneurial spirit, balanced with a commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex information effectively, orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Private equity experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with various Controllers and the CFO to support the GP Strategic Capital organization.
• Apply expertise in private equity structures, including profit-and-loss allocations, capital calls, distributions, fee calculations, and quarterly investor- and fund-level reporting.
• Perform product and valuation control for private equity investments based on their documentation and the accounting policy underpinning each investment.
• Manage day-to-day operations, including cash management and forecasting, and compliance with debt facilities.
• Assist with fund- and investor-level tax calculations, tax reporting, and compliance.
• Prepare audited, including annual year-end, and unaudited financial statements in accordance with applicable reporting requirements.
• Work with the GP Strategic Capital team on new products, investments, and other strategic initiatives.
