About The Position

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to join our team in our Denver headquarters. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting & Reporting and will be responsible for performing and coordinating fund accounting functions across the organization. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with private equity accounting. An outstanding fund accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, and highly organized. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and team environment with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a private equity fund accounting position.
  • Experience with partnership accounting and partnership tax rules.
  • Solid comprehension of GAAP, ASC 946, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and experience with accounting and reporting for private equity partnerships.
  • Experience with investor reporting and CRM practices.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems

Responsibilities

  • Generate and review quarterly partnership financial statements and partner capital statements.
  • Prepare timely and accurately work papers, capital call and distribution notices, calculate carried interest, allocate profits and losses in accordance with governing documents.
  • Assist with the monitoring of fund performance, track cash flows, and prepare investor reports.
  • Respond timely and accurately to investor inquiries.
  • Analyze partnership and investment documents and properly set up investment structures and subsidiaries.
  • Provide support for the external audit function during the quarterly review and year-end audit. Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Perform other accounting duties and investor services duties as assigned.
