About The Position

The Service Functional Architect is a self-motivated individual who challenges the status quo and drives innovation, making this role best suited for high performers, problem solvers, and innovators with strong leadership qualities. This individual will play a critical role in supporting Lam’s Aftermarket Service processes, including programs, projects, and related support activities, while working closely with Lam’s Customer Service Business Group (CSBG) executives, business process owners, and GIS teams to drive initiatives forward. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively partner with both Operations and Technology teams to architect and implement scalable processes and technologies that address business needs and enable tangible business outcomes. Additionally, the candidate must have deep experience in implementing aftermarket service solutions, including Customer Interaction Center, Contract and Entitlement Management, Service Order Management, Field Service Delivery and Execution, Install Base Management, and Software Subscriptions and Billing (Services/Advanced Services).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong and deep integration experience within the aftermarket service line of business, including integrations with Sales, Service Parts Management, Field Service Management, Logistics Execution, Quality, and Finance.
  • 12+ years of experience required, with a strong emphasis on implementing SAP ECC Customer Service in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP S/4, with at least one full implementation in Customer Management and Service.
  • Hands-on experience working with a CRM system such as SFDC, SAP C/4, MS Dynamics, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Plant Maintenance, Time Entry Management, and Contract Management.
  • Understanding of solution sales offerings that combine hardware, software, and services with subscription billing.
  • Ability to develop detailed process flows, solution design and architecture, fit-gap analysis, integration design, and solution assessment matrices.
  • Detail-oriented team player with strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all levels, including customers, vendors, peers, business stakeholders, and management.
  • Experience evaluating multiple technology platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in designing service processes for Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturers, Medical Equipment Manufacturers, or other equipment manufacturers.
  • Experience in large transformation programs.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics solutions.
  • Knowledge of CRM system deal management, CPQ, and solution sales offerings.
  • Technical knowledge of ABAP, BTP, and SAP PI/PO.
  • Experience with SAP BI, Power BI, or other analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and implementing the service functional architecture. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, understanding business requirements, and translating them into effective solutions on CRM (case management, field service offerings) and ERP platforms.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline and optimize service business processes. This includes recommending best practices, proposing process improvements, and leveraging automation capabilities within the system.
  • Responsible for working closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their needs, and translate them into functional designs, ensuring that the solutions align with the organization’s service strategies and objectives.
  • Responsible for analyzing multiple solution options, assessing technology platforms, developing proof-of-concepts, and implementing new processes and tools to maximize business benefits and achieve capability roadmap objectives.
  • Responsible for supporting the implementation of CRM and ERP systems by collaborating with technical teams and functional consultants. This includes configuring systems, integrating with other modules, and performing testing to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Apply modern tools and methodologies such as robotic process automation, process mining, and data mining to add value to business processes and solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to scale up or down based on business needs, functioning as either a Functional Architect or a Business Systems Analyst.
