Fullstack Engineer - Data Platform
About The Position
General Intuition is the frontier research lab for acting in space and time. We build large action models that can perceive, predict, and act across virtual and physical environments. We recently raised $320M at a $2.3B valuation led by Khosla Ventures with participation from General Catalyst, Eric Schmidt, and Jeff Bezos, to discover the next generation of real-world intelligence. Our models learn from Medal, the largest platform for gaming clips, where millions of gamers capture and share the moments that form our underlying dataset. MGI's platform enables human feedback within our research engine. Today, the platform is a desktop app that allows users to browse tasks, record gameplay, and get paid, backed by services that manage sessions, verify uploads, and process payouts. Next, the platform will power ever more diverse tasks such as watching and correcting the model, collecting data of humans operating in simulation, and real-world teleoperation tasking. We're spinning it up now and need someone to own it end-to-end. You'll lead the engineering and think like an owner about where the platform goes - we need extremely high ownership and ruthless optimization for speed.
Requirements
- Experience integrating with C#/.NET game recorders over WebSocket JSON-RPC.
- Familiarity with Electron main↔renderer split and IPC (or deep Node.js if Electron is new).
- Experience with server-side validation for anti-cheat and fraud detection.
- Experience with Java/Spring Boot and Postgres for managing financial transactions.
- Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, and React (Zustand, Vite) for building admin tools.
- Experience hardening full stack security, including mTLS, OIDC, encrypted-at-rest auth tokens, secrets pipelines, and signed installers.
- Experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, GCS, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager).
- Experience reading Terraform and debugging deployments.
- Experience running marketplace mechanics and A/B testing.
- Experience building legal and compliance tooling.
Responsibilities
- Integrate with our C#/.NET game recorder over WebSocket JSON-RPC (screen capture, game detection, input capture, video encoding) and debug across the Electron↔recorder boundary.
- Build anti-cheat and fraud detection server-side validation to catch faked gameplay, AFK farming, input spoofing, and manipulated recordings.
- Own the money path in Java / Spring Boot against Postgres, including earnings, payouts, and status tracking (Tipalti) on an immutable, auditable ledger.
- Build admin tools in Next.js for managing users, reviewing sessions, and processing payments.
- Harden the full stack, including mTLS between Cloudflare and origin, OIDC-authenticated Pub/Sub webhooks, encrypted-at-rest auth tokens, a pillar-encrypted secrets pipeline, and signed installers on GCP.
- Run the marketplace mechanics, including a cohort system for A/B testing task configurations (pricing, duration, game selection).
- Build legal + compliance tooling, including click-wrap ToS versioning, sanctioned-country geofencing, GDPR DSR fulfillment, and worker-classification guardrails.
