About The Position

We are seeking a Mid-level Fullstack Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join our 10-person startup, Paraform. This role is based in our San Francisco office and requires onsite work 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will be able to own critical systems early in their tenure. The domain expertise required includes crypto trading (perps, cross-chain spot, prediction markets), exchange/trading infrastructure (CEX, DEX, Hyperliquid), HFT and market making, portfolio margin and collateral, and blockchain protocols and validators (Rust L1/L2).

Requirements

• Production Rust experience (must have).
• Async programming with Tokio (must have).
• Experience with low-latency, performance-focused backend development.
• Understanding of distributed systems, state consistency across async processes (voting, consensus, coordination).
• Experience with REST and WebSocket APIs.
• Familiarity with live market data and multi-venue coordination.
• Experience with risk and liquidation engine logic.
• Knowledge of blockchain state machines for trading and settlement.
• Experience with Docker.
• Ability to work at a startup pace and take ownership.

Nice To Haves

• Develop and maintain low-latency, performance-focused backend systems with ms-level APIs.
• Implement distributed systems, focusing on state consistency across async processes (voting, consensus, coordination).
• Build and manage REST and WebSocket APIs.
• Handle live market data and multi-venue coordination.
• Develop risk and liquidation engine logic.
• Implement blockchain state machines for trading and settlement.
• Own critical systems and contribute to the startup's growth.
