About The Position

Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road is seeking a Full-Time Substitute Teacher to provide substitute teaching coverage for all grades and subjects, preschool through 8th grade. This role is responsible for implementing the Goals and Criteria and the philosophy of Sacred Heart education. The teacher will interface with students of all ages (3-14), teach various subjects including math and science labs, and assist division heads with school procedures and classroom management. This position also serves as a point person for other substitute teachers and requires flexibility and adaptability to changing situations. The role may involve covering short and long-term absences. Proficiency in technology such as document cameras, projectors, laptops, and iPads is expected.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
3 - 5 years of teaching experience.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Comfortable teaching all grades and interfacing with all children ages 3-14.
Comfortable teaching math for 3rd - 5th grade and has some knowledge of algebra at the middle school level.
Learns Science Labs and is able to teach them at the middle school level if needed.
Proficient in the use of technology i.e., document cameras, classroom projectors, laptops, and iPads.
Demonstrate good organization and attention to detail.
Be highly motivated, ethical, and eager to learn.
Prioritize and multi-task effectively.
Enjoy working both independently and as a member of a team.
Continuously strive for process improvement and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provides substitute teaching coverage for all grades and subjects, preschool through 8th grade.
Works with School Office Assistant/Substitute Teacher Coordinator for daily substitute teaching assignments.
Provides support to School Office & Portry.
Fulfills other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Assistant to the Head of Schools and/or the Academic Program Support Associate which are subject to change at any time including to satisfy reasonable accommodation or for other reasons.
