British American Household Staffing•Scarsdale, NY
•$40 - $45•Onsite

About The Position

A warm, private family is seeking an experienced full-time, live-out nanny to care for their two young daughters, currently almost 4 months old and almost 2.5 years old, starting asap. This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who genuinely loves working with children and is confident caring for an infant and toddler simultaneously. The family has been caring for their daughters themselves and is now looking for a trusted professional to join their household as the mother returns to work. The schedule will be approximately 8:30/9:00am–5:30/6:00pm Monday through Friday. Some additional hours may occasionally be required and can be discussed in advance. Occasional weekend/date-night coverage would be welcomed but is not essential. A nanny who is open to occasional domestic or international family travel would be a plus.

Requirements

  • Recent professional infant-care experience is essential — ideally experience within the past three years
  • Demonstrated experience caring for an infant and toddler simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of infant routines, feeding, bottles, sleep, and developmental milestones
  • Previous experience working with children of similar ages
  • Experience transporting children to school, activities, appointments, or outings
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a nurturing approach to childcare
  • Warm, kind, attentive, and emotionally perceptive
  • Naturally reserved and able to read the room and adapt to a family's personality and household environment
  • Flexible and receptive to the family's routines, preferences, and way of doing things
  • Strong references from previous families
  • Must have recent infant-care experience, including hands-on responsibility for bottles/feeding, naps, diapering, and daily infant routines
  • Must have experience caring for an infant and toddler at the same time
  • Must be comfortable managing two young children independently
  • Driving experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience safely transporting children; the family may consider an exceptional candidate who does not drive
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record if driving
  • Must be fully vaccinated, including current annual flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations
  • Must be comfortable working formally/on the books
  • Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and communicative
  • Must be comfortable preparing simple children's meals
  • Must be willing to handle children's laundry and light child-related tidying
  • Must provide strong professional references
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Early childhood education or formal nanny training is welcome but not essential; relevant hands-on experience and the right approach to childcare are more important
