About The Position

The Eastern Michigan University School of Music & Dance invites applications for a Full-Time Lecturer in Music with expertise in piano. The successful candidate will teach group piano, applied piano, and other music courses related to their areas of expertise. This is a full-time appointment, subject to the collective bargaining agreement between Eastern Michigan University and the EMU Federation of Teachers, and requires in-person instruction on Eastern Michigan University’s campus in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Requirements

• Master of Music degree in piano or piano pedagogy
• Significant experience teaching piano in group and lesson settings

Responsibilities

• Teach group piano, applied piano, and other music courses related to their areas of expertise.
• Meet with students during and outside of assigned classes.
• Assess student work and performance.
• Prepare syllabi and course materials.
• Provide copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request.
• Assign and submit grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
