About The Position

The Department of Social Work at California State University, Dominguez Hills
(CSUDH) invites applications for a Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Faculty (12-month
appointment, Lecturer B) to serve as the LA DCFS Stipend Program Coordinator,
beginning July 1, 2026. This position provides leadership, coordination, and
oversight of the Stipend Program in partnership with the Los Angeles County
Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

The Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the university, DCFS, students,
faculty, field instructors, and external partners to ensure program quality,
compliance, student success, and alignment with CSUDH’s mission of equity,
social justice, and culturally responsive social work education.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of professional experience in public child welfare and/or child welfare education.
• College-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex programs involving multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a high level of professional polish.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racist practice.
• Ability to work independently, manage data and reporting requirements, and exercise sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 2-5 years of supervisory or administrative experience in public child welfare, field education, or Title IV-E programs.
• Experience with accreditation, grant compliance, and public-sector partnerships.
• Proficiency with systems such as PeopleSoft, Canvas, Qualtrics, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms.
• Graduate-level teaching experience in social work education.
• Experience working with diverse, multilingual, and non-traditional student populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach MSW courses, including integrative field seminars and/or specialized child welfare–focused seminars.
• Mentor and advise MSW students, with particular attention to DCFS stipend recipients, regarding professional development, field education, and career pathways in public child welfare.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation-related activities (e.g., CSWE).
• Provide training and professional development for faculty, field instructors, and supervisors related to child welfare practice and education.
• Serve as field liaison in accordance with university requirements, including regular communication and site visits with DCFS field instructors.
• Oversee the daily operations of the LA DCFS Stipend.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, and onboarding of stipend candidates, including: Promoting the DCFS program through recruitment events, informational materials, and coordination with admissions. Reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and supporting DCFS clearance processes.
• Serve as the primary university liaison to DCFS Internship Program staff and Intern Field Coordinators.
• Recruit, train, and support DCFS field instructors, including coordinating Field Instructor Certification and enhancement trainings.
• Monitor student compliance with DCFS stipend agreements, field requirements, and employment obligations.
• Support students and field instructors in addressing performance concerns and remediation plans when necessary.
• Manage reporting, budget preparation, and grant compliance in accordance with federal, state, and university requirements.
• Prepare, manage, and submit required reports, data, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, DCFS, and university requirements.
• Participate in DCFS partner meetings and collaborative planning activities.
• Track stipend recipient progress, field hours, evaluations, and required documentation.
• Maintain student data systems and submit required activity logs and reports.
• Organize orientations, workshops, information sessions, and support meetings for stipend students.
• Coordinate DCFS pre-orientations, meet-and-greet sessions, and transition-to-employment activities.
• Support students’ preparation for DCFS employment, including coordination with LA County Human Resources presentations.
• Ensure timely communication with DCFS regarding student status, graduation, and completion of program requirements.
