About The Position

The Nurse Educator position is a full-time assistant or associate faculty position. The position refers to a registered nurse who, as a member of the nursing faculty, is responsible for the development and/or implementation of the nursing program including curriculum, policies, student advising, and evaluation, as well as mentoring and collaborating with nurse educator associates and clinical teaching associates.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing (MS or MSN) required.
  • Three years of experience in nursing higher education required.
  • Maintenance of unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP) or enrollment in a doctoral program.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging, evidence-based instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
  • Integrate active learning strategies and technology to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Teach within areas of expertise and pursue ongoing development to support instruction in additional nursing subjects.
  • Develop and employ formative and summative assessment tools aligned with course and program outcomes.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify trends, address learning gaps, and improve instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate in curriculum development and revision to ensure alignment with AACN 2021 Essentials curriculum, QSEN competencies, and the Oregon State Board of Nursing standards.
  • Support integration of the AACN 2021 Essentials throughout the program.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement quality improvement initiatives within courses and clinical experiences.
  • Participate in scholarly activities, including research, evidence-based practice projects, presentations, and publications relevant to nursing education and disseminate findings to contribute to the body of knowledge in nursing education.
  • Contribute to shared governance, committees, and departmental decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with institutional and community partners to strengthen program visibility, support diversity, and enhance clinical learning opportunities.
  • Work collegially with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Understand and promote the mission, vision, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills in all interactions with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities provided by Warner Pacific University.
