About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to develop secure, resilient software supporting critical U.S. Government and Department of Defense missions. In this role, you will build modern user interfaces with React and TypeScript, develop scalable backend services using Java and Node.js, and deploy containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, product owners, mission users, and operational stakeholders to deliver reliable, mission-focused capabilities in demanding operational environments.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of related professional experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Professional experience developing production software with React and JavaScript-based technologies.
  • Experience developing backend services using Java, Node.js, or both.
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, or consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a software development or deployment environment.
  • Experience developing in Linux environments.
  • Experience using Git for source control and collaborative software development.
  • Experience working with relational databases, NoSQL databases, or both.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced experience with TypeScript, reusable React components, UI libraries, and state-management solutions.
  • Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
  • Experience with Maven, Gradle, or other Java build and dependency-management tools.
  • Experience deploying applications to AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or other cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting DoD cloud, tactical, or operational environments.
  • Familiarity with disconnected, intermittent, and limited-bandwidth environments.
  • Experience developing or maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Keycloak, identity and access management, and role-based access control.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as JMS or Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar database technologies.
  • Familiarity with Tactical Assault Kit, WebTAK, TAK Server, tactical communications, or mission command systems.
  • Experience working in Agile or other iterative software development environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain full-stack software applications based on customer and mission requirements.
  • Build modern, responsive, and maintainable user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and related UI technologies.
  • Translate UI/UX designs and prototypes into functional web applications.
  • Develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and related frameworks.
  • Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs, WebSocket services, and other web services.
  • Develop applications that interact with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Support application development and deployment across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Apply DevSecOps practices, including Git-based version control, peer code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot front-end, backend, API, database, and deployment issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement improvements to application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, developers, system administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and operational stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, coding standards, and software development processes.
  • Support the delivery of software for operational environments that may include limited-bandwidth or disconnected conditions.
