About The Position

Abby Care is building the leading AI-native platform for family-led care, addressing the growing care crisis in America by empowering family caregivers with technology, training, and support. The platform combines clinical oversight with AI to improve care quality, expand access, reduce reliance on higher-cost settings, and ensure effective public spending. Abby Care partners with health plans, providers, and community organizations, backed by top VCs, to establish family-led care as a core part of the healthcare system. This role is for a driven and resourceful Full-Stack Engineer to join their mission, reporting to the Director of Product Engineering. The engineer will solve challenging technical problems with real-world impact in a dynamic environment, working at the intersection of engineering and product execution. They will design and build core technology for families and Abby Care operations, translating complex operational needs into reliable technical implementations and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to greenfield systems using AI advancements while adhering to healthcare industry standards, ultimately transforming care at home for vulnerable populations. This is a Full-Time Hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, California.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency working with TypeScript and Python.
  • Proven experience with Web and API development.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud architectures and platforms (such as AWS).
  • Deep empathy, with genuine passion for helping underserved communities and strong interest in the healthcare industry.
  • Must reside or be willing to permanently relocate to the San Francisco, CA area for a hybrid schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in product-led development is highly preferred.
  • Startup experience is strongly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver product features, taking ownership over the entire feature development lifecycle from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate on project scope, perform full-stack development, and support user testing and launch cycles.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment by working alongside operations, clinical, compliance, and product teams to build solutions that work in the real world.
  • Translate complex operational needs into reliable technical implementations.
  • Champion technical excellence by deepening expertise in product development, cloud infrastructure, and data security.
  • Contribute to greenfield systems using the latest advancements in AI, while upholding rigorous healthcare industry standards.
