CampusNew York, NY
$140,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

Campus is seeking a product-minded full-stack engineer to build software rapidly, collaborate directly with users, and leverage modern AI tools to enhance development velocity. The company is rethinking internal software development in the age of AI coding, believing that AI-assisted development, close user collaboration, and rapid iteration allow small teams to create effective software for specific operational workflows. The role involves working with admissions, financial aid, course design, and student success teams to build internal tools that improve their efficiency. This includes understanding team operations, identifying automation opportunities, and quickly developing production software. Success is measured by shipping useful internal products weekly, with a focus on using AI to accelerate development and workflow automation. The engineer will join a fast-paced team, contributing to systems that impact the company at scale, with significant ownership, mentorship, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack engineering skills with a focus on building end-to-end products
  • Regular use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, subagents, superpowers, custom MCPs and skills
  • Experience reinventing development processes multiple times in the past 6 months
  • 1-3 years of software engineering experience
  • Highly product-minded with a passion for solving real operational problems
  • Ability to move quickly and comfort in ambiguous environments
  • Focus on shipping useful software and iterating based on feedback
  • Enjoyment of close collaboration with users and deep understanding of their workflows
  • Curiosity about how AI is changing software development
  • Excitement about ownership, autonomy, and fast iteration cycles
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring new H-1B sponsorship. H-1B transfers and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens are supported.

Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack applications used daily by admissions, course design, financial aid, and student success teams
  • Develop conversational workflows, copilots, dashboards, and operational automation systems
  • Build custom software that replaces manual processes and legacy systems with purpose-built tools for specific teams
  • Work directly with internal teams to understand workflows and rapidly ship improvements
  • Prototype new ideas quickly using modern AI tooling and coding agents
  • Experiment constantly with new workflows, interfaces, and operational tooling patterns
