About The Position

This role is for a Full Stack Software Engineer focused on AI Applications. The ideal candidate is an "agent orchestrator" who uses AI as their primary tool for development, focusing on architecture and high-level direction rather than manual coding. They should have a strong understanding of fundamental computer science principles and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated output. The role involves building and deploying AI-powered applications and agents, integrating systems, automating manual processes, and enhancing developer productivity within a large enterprise environment at Ford Motor Company.

Requirements

  • Deep Python proficiency for production systems.
  • JavaScript/TypeScript experience with React, Node.js, or equivalent for front-end and API development.
  • Experience with AI engineering, including LLMs, embeddings, vector stores, and RAG pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
  • GCP experience, including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage, with deployed and operated systems.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, understanding their appropriate use cases.
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
  • Proficiency with Git, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD tools like Terraform and Cloud Build.
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience building and deploying full-stack applications in production.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-native platforms (GCP preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience building AI agents or applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Front-end strength is a big plus.
  • Bonus for fine-tuning or AI evaluation work.
  • MS degree is a plus, but not a substitute for shipping software.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate agents to build AI applications, setting the standard for AI-assisted development within the team.
  • Design, build, and ship AI-powered applications and agents, including RAG pipelines, LLM integrations, and agentic workflows.
  • Understand and manage the production deployment of AI systems at scale.
  • Design, deploy, and operate cloud-native systems on GCP, owning the architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipeline.
  • Build integration layers across enterprise SaaS platforms, handling complex APIs and legacy constraints.
  • Automate repetitive manual tasks by writing code or directing AI agents.
  • Improve developer productivity by building tools, agent workflows, and guardrails.
