About The Position

BluePath Labs is seeking a Mid-level Full Stack Software Developer to support the Army Cyber Institute (ACI) in West Point, NY. This role is crucial for advanced research in artificial intelligence and cyberspace capabilities, utilizing data science, data engineering, and software development technologies. The position offers direct operational relevance and requires collaboration with leading Army researchers, programs, and US Government partners. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-ready desktop and web-based applications, working closely with researchers, developers, designers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend technical approaches, and build user-friendly software supporting ACI's research mission and Army Cyber Mission Force requirements. Strong full stack development experience, proficiency in JavaScript and Python, and familiarity with tools like Docker, Flask, React, Svelte, PlotlyDash, SQL databases, TCP/UDP protocols, testing, and security principles are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (CS), software engineering (SE), computer engineering (CE), electrical engineering (EE), information systems (ISYS), or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Primary proficiency in JavaScript & Python.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with Docker, Flask, React, Svelte, & PlotlyDash.
  • Secondary proficiency in at least one language from the following list: Java, C#, C, C++, Rust.
  • Basic understanding of ML frameworks and technologies.
  • Experience in writing programs that interact with SQL databases.
  • Experience writing programs that communicate over TCP/UDP network protocols using sockets.
  • Knowledge of computer and network security principles.
  • Articulate, adaptable, and able to work with a variety of researchers and professionals in academia, government, and industry.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
  • Working alone and as part of a team with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Building appropriate desktop or web-based applications with user-friendly interfaces.
  • Building products that are ready for production.
  • Contributing to ACI research mission tasks and Army Cyber Mission Force research requirements.
  • Designing and implementing software applications.
  • Interacting with stakeholders to elicit software requirements.
  • Analyzing requirements to produce a recommended approach for the design of the software application.
  • Building appropriate unit and integration tests.
  • Providing ongoing support to existing software applications by providing updates as changes or fixes are requested by stakeholders.
