About The Position

CACI is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support the Department of Homeland Security's Cyber Crimes Center (C3) by designing and implementing sophisticated web applications and investigative tools. The role develops scalable, secure applications that support law enforcement investigations targeting criminal networks and dark web operations. The developer works within a collaborative technical team to deliver mission-critical software for national security operations, applying modern full-stack development practices to investigative challenges in anonymized environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of full-stack development experience and a track record of delivering production applications.
• At least 4 years of experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, and strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• At least 4 years of backend development experience with Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and SQL query optimization.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience maintaining and deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Knowledge of web security best practices, secure coding principles, and anonymization technologies.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Fairfax, Virginia.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a DHS background investigation, including checks for felony convictions over the prior 3 years and illegal drug use or misconduct such as theft or fraud over the prior year.

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into web applications and building interfaces for AI-powered systems.
• At least 2 years of experience developing dark web applications using technologies such as Tor for secure, anonymous communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex web applications using frontend and backend technologies.
• Develop and maintain custom applications, tools, and sites that support DHS C3 investigative operations.
• Build applications using dark web technologies such as Tor for secure, anonymous communication.
• Build custom solutions that integrate with existing investigative systems and infrastructure.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for system integration and data exchange.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Python and JavaScript for investigative software systems.
• Implement responsive user interfaces using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Develop server-side applications using Express.js, Django, or Flask.
• Maintain and deploy code using Docker, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.
• Develop solutions for anonymized and dark web environments while maintaining operational security.
• Collaborate with data scientists, infrastructure engineers, and cybersecurity specialists on cross-functional projects.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance.
• Document software architecture, APIs, and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Support the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production deployment.
• Ensure applications meet federal security standards and compliance requirements.
