About The Position

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) relies on critical applications like CT-KIND and IV-E, Connecticut's Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). These systems, in place since 1996, have been continuously updated to meet evolving child welfare practices, state, and federal legislation. DCF Information Systems supports approximately 3,300 employees with technology expertise and services, aiming for cost-effective and high-quality technology solutions. This role involves supporting existing custom Salesforce applications and participating in the development of the new CT-KIND system, ensuring knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance with the System Integrator for specific modules. The candidate will be involved in various SDLC processes including requirements verification, design, development, testing, maintenance, and support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Salesforce development experience.
  • Must know foundational OOP in APEX.
  • Must be very organized, pro-active and self-directed.
  • Must be a self-starter and driven. Must drive the work from requirements to implementation.
  • Must have very strong abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce development (OOP, Design Patterns).
  • Experience with .NET OOP and SOA.
  • Experience with JavaScript Frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with End-to-End Web Development.
  • 10 or more years of prior experience demonstrating the required knowledge and skills.
  • Must be able to code APEX OOP and know design patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in the capacity of a Developer participating in various SDLC processes including requirements verification, design and development, testing, maintenance, and support activities.
  • Support existing custom Salesforce applications.
  • Participate in the SDLC process of the new CT-KIND system.
  • Work with the System Integrator to ensure the transfer of knowledge and on-going maintenance of the solution for a given module.
  • Design and development Salesforce APEX, Lightning pages, Visual Force Pages.
  • Perform Full stack development including Salesforce, OOP, CRUD, Design patterns, Configuration, and SOQL.
  • Provide analysis/requirements to integrate applications.
  • Work on all phases of SDLC and create/maintain required technical documentation.
  • Mentor less experienced staff.
