About The Position

The Full Stack Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot. This role involves implementing secure RESTful APIs, writing clean and testable code, and developing comprehensive test suites. The developer will also be involved in performance testing, Chaos Engineering, EKS infrastructure management, CI/CD pipeline collaboration, and production issue resolution. Additionally, the role requires optimizing application performance, implementing custom exception handling, integrating messaging systems like Apache ActiveMQ Artemis, and maintaining API documentation. The position also includes managing change requests and coordinating production deployments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related fields.
  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot for microservices development.
  • Experience implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Unit, Integration, and API testing using JUnit, Mockito, and REST Assured.
  • Experience with BDD test scenarios using Cucumber.
  • Experience with performance testing using Apache JMeter.
  • Experience with Chaos Engineering practices.
  • Experience with EKS infrastructure management.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Datadog for monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Experience with JVM tuning, database query optimization, and caching strategies.
  • Experience with custom exception handling and error code mapping.
  • Experience with Apache Camel and Apache ActiveMQ Artemis.
  • Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation.
  • Experience with ServiceNow for Change Management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience migrating from TIBCO BW processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Implement secure, versioned, and well-documented RESTful APIs adhering to industry best practices and standards.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following coding standards.
  • Develop comprehensive Unit, Integration, and API test suites using JUnit, Mockito, and REST Assured to ensure code reliability.
  • Create and maintain BDD test scenarios using Cucumber to align technical implementation with business requirements.
  • Execute performance testing (Load, Stress, and Endurance) using Apache JMeter to identify bottlenecks and ensure system stability.
  • Implement Chaos Engineering practices to validate system resilience, fault tolerance, and failover mechanisms under simulated failure conditions.
  • Provision and manage EKS infrastructure with optimized node sizing and autoscaling policies for cost efficiency and high availability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines to enable automated build, testing, and deployment workflows.
  • Set up and configure infrastructure for new Spring Boot applications, ensuring scalability and operational readiness.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve production issues leveraging Datadog logs, metrics dashboards, and APM tooling.
  • Analyze and optimize application performance through JVM tuning, database query optimization, and caching strategies.
  • Create custom exception classes with technical error codes for each Camel processor, aligning with the error code standards defined in the existing TIBCO BW workflows.
  • Map processor-level failures to specific tech error codes using custom exceptions, ensuring consistent error reporting and easier troubleshooting across the layers.
  • Replace TIBCO exception handling constructs with Camel's on Exception, Dead Letter Channels, and retry policies to enhance fault tolerance.
  • Implement Apache Camel routes integrated with Apache ActiveMQ Artemis for reliable, asynchronous message-driven communication between microservices.
  • Build Camel routes with Artemis in Spring Boot to handle file upload workflows, migrated from existing TIBCO BW processes.
  • Configure Artemis queues and wire them into Camel routes to process incoming files, apply business validations, and route them to downstream systems.
  • Monitor and tune Artemis broker performance including queue depth, consumer throughput, and message backlog using Artemis management console and Datadog integrations.
  • Maintain comprehensive API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Document all performance test results and Chaos testing outcomes, obtaining necessary approvals prior to production promotion.
  • Create and manage Change Management tickets in ServiceNow, including deployment-related tagging and coordination of production installations.
