Full Stack Java developer (Back-end)
About The Position
We are seeking a Full Stack Java Developer with a strong focus on Java backend development to join our engineering team. This role is primarily backend-focused, with approximately 80% of the work involving backend development and 20% frontend development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building scalable backend applications using Java, along with experience working with MongoDB and PostgreSQL. Frontend experience with Angular, HTML, and CSS is required at a working/familiarity level, but extensive frontend expertise is not necessary. Experience with AWS is a plus but is not required.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in Java backend development.
- Hands-on experience developing backend applications, services, and APIs using Java.
- Strong database experience with: MongoDB PostgreSQL
- Working familiarity with Angular.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, API development, and application integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with RESTful web services and microservices architecture.
- Experience with modern Java/Spring-based backend development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and modern software development practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications using Java.
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
- Work extensively with MongoDB and PostgreSQL for application data storage and management.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications and database performance.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Contribute to frontend development and enhancements using Angular, HTML, and CSS as needed.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and deployment activities.
- Follow software development best practices, coding standards, and secure development practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support application deployments and production troubleshooting when required.
