Full Stack Engineer (Ghost Ops Team)

Striim, Inc.Palo Alto, CA
$165,000 - $175,000Hybrid

About The Position

Striim is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to join its elite, high-visibility "Ghost Ops" team. This team acts as a strike force to identify and resolve technical blockers that prevent critical customer deployments. The role involves performing surgical interventions on the front lines of real-time data integration, diving deep into the existing mid-tier codebase to diagnose and repair bottlenecks or bugs. Engineers will also partner with Field Engineers to write custom, high-performance code within Striim’s Open Processor framework for bespoke data handling and rapidly refactor mid-tier logic or API interfaces in "war room" environments to integrate seamlessly with unique enterprise ecosystems. The focus is on surgical precision, removing friction, and hardening the platform, rather than adding to the general product roadmap.

Requirements

  • Prior experience at a company building data movement, replication, or streaming platforms (CDI/ETL/ELT).
  • Understanding of the stakes of Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Ability to navigate the entire stack—from React UI glitches to Java/backend API bottlenecks, down to complex SQL execution plans.
  • Expertise in writing custom logic to extend platform capabilities for specific, high-scale use cases.
  • Deep understanding of high-concurrency, low-latency systems.
  • Knowledge of how to move massive data volumes without breaking the latency budget.
  • Prioritize a working fix today over a theoretical discussion tomorrow.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of the Oracle ecosystem, specifically CDBs (Container Databases), PDBs (Pluggable Databases), and Oracle DataGuard.
  • Experience using downstream Oracle instances to offload replication processing from primary databases.
  • Advanced ability to interface with Oracle APIs and navigate highly complex, enterprise-grade setups.

Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into the existing mid-tier codebase to diagnose and repair bottlenecks or bugs stalling critical customer deployments.
  • Partner with Field Engineers to write custom, high-performance code within Striim’s Open Processor framework, enabling bespoke data handling that transcends standard UI configurations.
  • Thrive in "war room" environments, refactoring mid-tier logic or API interfaces on the fly to integrate seamlessly with unique enterprise ecosystems.
  • Maintain a calm, authoritative presence under pressure, explaining complex technical resolutions to customer stakeholders while simultaneously implementing the fix.
  • Focus on surgical precision—removing friction and hardening the platform, not adding to the general product roadmap.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Pre-IPO stock options
  • Comprehensive health care plans (medical, dental and vision)
  • Medical and dependent FSA
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • The chance to contribute to and shape an upbeat, fully engaged culture
