About The Position

Beast Industries is undertaking an AI-first engineering rebuild for a company with an existing audience of over 100 million people. This is a ground-up build without legacy constraints, focused on creating live streaming and gaming experiences that will set a new industry standard for the Beast community. The role involves working across the full stack, both frontend and backend, to deliver features with unprecedented speed, leveraging AI, and shaping a product used by millions in real time. The team will focus on the technically demanding live and game stack, where unpredictable traffic and unforgiving user expectations are the norm. Workloads are bursty and correlated, with fan-out events causing synchronized connection storms that challenge every layer of the stack, from load balancers to live streaming services, game servers, and database write throughput. This requires real-time features (video playback, messaging, leaderboards, in-game interactions) that remain correct and fast under spike-driven load, a seamless client experience across devices and network conditions, and code that is robust under high traffic surges.

Requirements

• AI-Native: Already using AI coding agents daily to increase speed.
• Full Stack Engineer: 3+ years of hands-on experience building consumer-facing products across frontend and backend, with comfort moving between client and server as the product demands.
• Real-Time Enthusiast: Genuine interest or experience in live streaming, gaming, or real-time systems, with an understanding of latency importance and user experience under load.
• Ownership Mindset: Takes pride in shipped work, follows through on production issues, and considers a feature complete only when running reliably for users.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in at least one backend language (Node.js, Go, Java, Rust, or equivalent) and one frontend framework.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with live streaming protocols (HLS, RTMP)
• Experience with real-time systems (websockets, messaging, leaderboards)
• Experience with gaming backend services
• Prior work at a consumer-scale company

Responsibilities

• Build and ship live and game features across the full stack using AI coding tools, contributing to a velocity that redefines what a small engineering team can deliver.
• Take ownership of features end to end, from development through deployment, using AI-facilitated QA processes and tooling to maintain high engineering quality.
• Write clean, reliable, and performant code with a strong sense of accountability for what you ship in production.
• Collaborate closely with teammates, contributing to a culture of high standards, fast iteration, and continuous learning.
