About The Position

Beast Industries is undertaking an AI-first engineering rebuild for a company with an existing audience of over 100 million people. This is a new build without legacy constraints, focused on creating industry-leading live streaming and gaming experiences from scratch for the Beast community. The role involves working across the full stack (frontend and backend) to deliver features with unprecedented speed, leveraging AI, and shaping a product used by millions in real time. The team will focus on a technically demanding live and game stack with unpredictable traffic and high user expectations, where bursty workloads and synchronized connection storms stress all layers of the system. This includes ensuring real-time features (video playback, messaging, leaderboards, in-game interactions) remain correct and fast under load, delivering a seamless client experience across various conditions, and writing code that is constantly stress-tested by traffic surges.

Requirements

• AI-Native: You're already burning through tokens and using AI coding agents daily to move faster.
• Full Stack Engineer: 3+ years of hands-on experience building consumer-facing products across frontend and backend, with comfort moving between client and server as the product demands.
• Real-Time Enthusiast: You have genuine interest or experience in live streaming, gaming, or real-time systems. You understand why latency matters and you care about the user experience under load.
• Ownership Mindset: You take pride in what you ship, follow through on production issues, and don't consider a feature done until it's running reliably in the hands of users.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in at least one backend language (Node.js, Go, Java, Rust, or equivalent) and one frontend framework.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with live streaming protocols (HLS, RTMP)
• Experience with real-time systems (websockets, messaging, leaderboards)
• Experience with gaming backend services
• Prior work at a consumer-scale company

Responsibilities

• Build and ship live and game features across the full stack using AI coding tools, contributing to a velocity that redefines what a small engineering team can deliver.
• Take ownership of features end to end, from development through deployment, using AI-facilitated QA processes and tooling to maintain high engineering quality.
• Write clean, reliable, and performant code with a strong sense of accountability for what you ship in production.
• Collaborate closely with teammates, contributing to a culture of high standards, fast iteration, and continuous learning.
