About The Position

We are seeking a versatile, heavy-hitting Software Engineer with deep big data and cloud expertise to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you will architect, maintain, and scale complex, processing-intensive analytics and distributed datastores capable of handling massive datasets. You won't just write routine code—you'll dive deep into Hadoop and Accumulo infrastructure, automate resilient cloud architecture using Terraform on AWS, and write performant Java and Python services. Requirements

ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED
Hands-on experience developing against and maintaining distributed big data platforms including Hadoop and Accumulo.
Practical experience building and deploying cloud-native applications within AWS.
Proven proficiency provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
Strong development skills in both Java and Python for large-scale data manipulation and analytics.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 7+ years of professional software engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a related field, PLUS 5+ years of specialized software development experience OR High School Diploma / GED , PLUS 11+ years of hands-on technical software engineering and big data experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

Experience writing complex map-reduce routines, analytics engines, or high-speed data indexing frameworks.
Familiarity with automated build and deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes orchestration within cloud environments.
Understanding of cloud security best practices, access control mechanisms, and data encryption standards.
