Full Stack Engineer, Growth

Triple WhaleNew York, NY
$125,000 - $150,000Remote

About The Position

Triple Whale is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to own the in-product growth surface. The primary focus will be on building experiences that drive customer activation, adoption of key features, and upgrades to higher-tier plans through self-serve flows. This includes owning upgrade prompts, gating experiences, onboarding flows, in-product messaging, trial mechanics, and feature discovery moments. The role also involves building and maintaining the experimentation infrastructure for A/B testing and rapid iteration. The engineer will work closely with the product lead on Moby and collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, customer success, and marketing. The role is approximately 80% frontend and 20% backend, with backend tasks including API endpoints for experiment configuration, usage tracking, PQL scoring logic, and internal system integrations. Comfort with AI tools for development acceleration and building AI-incorporating features is expected. While growth is the primary focus, contributions to core product work will be required as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of professional full stack engineering experience with a frontend emphasis.
  • Primarily React experience with backend experience in Node.js, Python, or similar.
  • Experience building UI critical to user conversion or monetization (upgrade flows, checkout, onboarding, paywalls, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with feature flagging and A/B testing infrastructure (e.g., LaunchDarkly, Statsig, Optimizely, or custom-built systems).
  • Comfort with analytics instrumentation and event tracking (e.g., Segment, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar).
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Copilot) as a core part of the development workflow.
  • Ability to move fast and ship iteratively without sacrificing code quality in critical areas.
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially working closely with product and using data to inform development.
  • Strong understanding of the 'why' behind the work, with a focus on metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building features that integrate AI/LLM capabilities (prompt design, API integration, streaming responses, or similar).
  • Experience at a product-led growth company or on a dedicated growth engineering team.
  • Familiarity with in-app messaging or onboarding tools (e.g., Appcues, Pendo, Intercom Product Tours, or custom equivalents).
  • Experience in ecommerce, marketing technology, or ad tech.

Responsibilities

  • Build frontend experiences for self-serve conversion, including upgrade modals, plan comparison views, usage limit messaging, gating experiences, and in-product CTAs.
  • Own the frontend side of the growth experimentation stack, implementing feature flags, building A/B test variants, and instrumenting events for analytics.
  • Develop in-product experiences to help customers reach activation milestones faster, such as guided flows, tooltips, checklists, contextual nudges, and feature education moments.
  • Ensure clean and reliable event tracking across growth surfaces for accurate measurement of activation, conversion, and feature adoption.
  • Contribute to core product work when priorities dictate, ensuring consistency with the overall platform.
  • Build API endpoints for experiment configuration, usage tracking, PQL scoring logic, and integrations with internal systems.
  • Utilize AI tools to accelerate development and build features with AI capabilities.

Benefits

  • Base Compensation Range: $125,000-$150,000
