This role is for a Full Stack Developer who will build new applications for a company that manufactures physical products. The developer will have direct access to the end-users of the software, enabling them to make product and design decisions independently. This position is part of a small, highly skilled engineering team. The core infrastructure, including integration layers, ERP, warehouse management systems, and the existing service fleet, is already established. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing applications built on top of this existing infrastructure. This role is unique due to its greenfield nature, allowing the developer to build business tools from scratch using a modern stack with open decisions. The team consists of strong, permanent peers, including an SRE responsible for the delivery platform and GitOps, and another engineer managing the integration layer and data pipelines. The Full Stack Developer will own the applications built on top, working alongside these peers and contributing to the platform's development. The team is small, ensuring visibility and impact for the developer's work. A key aspect of this role is learning the business directly from department heads (purchasing, nutrition, operations, sales) rather than through a traditional product management filter. The developer will need to understand the underlying business needs, which may differ from initial requests, and translate them into effective software solutions. This requires a developer who can independently manage their workload, build their own structure, and make critical decisions without constant oversight. The trade-off for this autonomy is the absence of a dedicated product manager or designer, and light management, offering significant freedom to those who thrive in such an environment.
