Full Stack Developer
About The Position
Zlayt AI is building a litigation automation platform for personal injury law, offering tools for demand letters, deposition summaries, discovery responses, and case analysis. Operating within a working law firm, the platform is used with real cases, attorneys, and client data from the outset. The mission is to enable legal professionals to draft efficiently and think strategically, leading to reduced friction and improved outcomes. This full-time, remote-friendly role is for a Full Stack Developer who excels in 0 → 1 environments. It is not a maintenance position; the developer will be responsible for building new systems from scratch, rapid prototyping, and delivering production-ready features at a high velocity. The role involves working across the entire stack—frontend, backend, and AI systems—to transform ideas into functional products quickly. The position requires a high degree of ownership and a proactive approach within defined guidelines, emphasizing client confidentiality, data security, and compliance as critical aspects of the legal environment. Production changes undergo review, balancing speed with necessary controls.
Requirements
- Startup experience strongly preferred (early-stage or high-growth environments)
- 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure in production environments
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Proficiency with Django, React, and PostgreSQL
- Experience building production features on LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar): prompt design, RAG and retrieval patterns, structured outputs, and evaluating output quality
- Experience building end-to-end systems quickly, not just contributing to parts
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data (legal, healthcare, or financial) is a strong plus
- Strong system design instincts with a bias toward practical solutions
- Ability to operate independently and make decisions with limited guidance
- Excellent communication skills — you can clearly explain what you're building and why
