About The Position

VVater is seeking a Full Stack Engineer and Web Lead who is proficient in coding and AI, and will be responsible for the company's entire web presence. This role involves building custom software, including an in-house ERP system called MIDNIGHT and other internal tools. Additionally, the role requires managing VVater's websites, SEO, and online visibility, particularly in the context of AI-powered search engines. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly develop and deploy custom software, manage WordPress sites, improve search rankings, and ensure VVater is discoverable through AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews. A core aspect of this role is the utilization of modern AI and large language models in the development process, enabling rapid prototyping and production-ready solutions. This is a highly versatile position requiring a blend of engineering, web development, and modern search strategy expertise.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience (what you have built matters more than where you studied).
Proven full stack development experience, with real applications you have designed, built, and shipped.
Strong command of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks) and of backend, database, and API development.
Proven WordPress development experience, including themes, plugins, and custom work.
Extensive hands-on experience building with AI tools and large language models (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or equivalents), with the ability to vibe-code working solutions in minutes.
Proven experience implementing and managing SEO strategies, with a strong grasp of technical SEO.
Understanding of AI-powered and generative search optimization (GEO / AEO / LLM SEO), or a demonstrated ability to master it fast.
Fluency with a modern programming language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, and comfort learning whatever a problem requires.
Familiarity with SEO and analytics tools (SEMRush, Google Analytics, Moz, Meltwater, or similar).
Strong database skills (SQL and/or NoSQL).
Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
A builder's bias for action; you ship fast and iterate rather than waiting for perfect specs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to own and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience building or extending ERP, CRM, CPQ, or other business-critical internal systems.
Strong UX/UI design sensibility; ability to build interfaces that look and feel great.
Experience modernizing or migrating legacy platforms (for example, moving off WordPress to a custom stack).
Demonstrated results driving brand visibility in AI answer engines and generative search.
Knowledge of PPC campaign management.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and CI/CD workflows.
A portfolio, GitHub, or real examples of applications, websites, tools, or SEO results you have personally delivered.

Responsibilities

Design, build, ship, and maintain custom software across the full stack, from database and backend to frontend.
Contribute to and extend MIDNIGHT, VVater's in-house ERP, and the broader ecosystem of internal applications.
Build internal tools, dashboards, portals, and applications that run and scale the business.
Develop and maintain APIs and integrations that connect VVater's systems into one seamless stack.
Own features end-to-end, from concept and architecture through deployment and iteration.
Use modern AI tools and large language models (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and whatever ships next) as a core part of how you build.
Vibe-code working solutions rapidly, then refine them into robust, production-grade software.
Build AI-powered features, agents, and automations into VVater's applications, website, and workflows.
Stay at the bleeding edge of AI-assisted development and continuously raise the bar for how fast and how well the team ships.
Own, manage, and continuously improve VVater's websites, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.
Manage all technical aspects of the CMS, including the current WordPress environment (themes, plugins, and custom development).
Modernize and evolve the web stack over time, migrating beyond WordPress to custom solutions where it makes sense.
Build high-performance, responsive, well-designed web interfaces, landing pages, and content delivery solutions.
Manage website content updates, ensuring fresh, accurate, on-brand content aligned with marketing strategy.
Ensure website security protocols and regular backups are in place.
Own and execute VVater's SEO strategy end-to-end: keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and link building.
Drive VVater's visibility in AI-powered and generative search (GEO, AEO, and LLM SEO), ensuring the brand surfaces and is cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other AI answer engines.
Run regular technical SEO audits and fix issues that affect rankings and crawlability.
Optimize site structure, content, and metadata for both traditional search and AI answer engines (schema, structured data, and machine-readable content).
Design and implement effective content and backlinking strategies to build authority.
Manage and optimize PPC campaigns for reach and ROI.
Use tools such as SEMRush, Google Analytics, Moz, Meltwater, and modern AI-search tracking tools to monitor performance, analyze behavior, and surface insight.
Provide regular reporting on website, SEO, and AI-search performance to leadership.
Partner with marketing to align web, SEO, and AI-search strategy with digital campaigns.
Move fast, ship often, and iterate based on real data and real use.
Take on whatever technical problems need solving; this is a high-versatility, Swiss Army knife role.
Perform other engineering and web tasks and duties as required.
