About The Position

The purpose of the role is to design, develop, and improve software using various engineering methodologies, providing business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. This involves developing high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and optimized software solutions. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, devise strategies, and ensure seamless integration. It also involves participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, staying informed about industry trends, and adhering to secure coding practices and effective unit testing.

Responsibilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Develop high-volume web applications for Barclays’ Cards Platform Technology business.
Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Confer with stakeholders across the team to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.
Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
Develop high performing distributed web applications.
Design and build software with integrated GenAI features, ensuring efficient and reusable code.
Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for automated testing, building and deploying both software and AI models.
Build scalable, cloud-native software with microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless architectures, using GitLab CI/CD for automated deployments and infrastructure as code (IaC).
